In our newsletter this month I reviewed some of the items trending this year in home decorating, but because of the pure volumn of information available, I really needed to bring some of this stuff into our blog!!

You can start now by looking for feathers or items with feathers, because they'll be a hot commodity this fall. A pretty plume stuck in a vase can bring the outdoors in, and whether you're looking to add texture with real feathers or just want to celebrate their lovely silhouette, pieces like shown here work for a range of styles.


The photo of the vignette at right featuring natural elements was found on Pinterest and although interesting enough, it might be for the most of us a little too natural. It does show how adding a clear vase of feathers can add a lot to any setting though.

Linen is forecasted to make a Revival this year and in fact it’s being called The Linen Revival. You'll find an emphasis is placed on rough linens that look hand-loomed; two-color tweeds; and animal patterns such as zebra and alligator woven. The colors reach beyond light neutrals, and include Arabian Spice, Caramel Café, Deep Well, Hemp, Orange Pepper, Papyrus, Seal Brown and Toasted Coconut. Very nostalgic looking.
